Q: Do you offer mobile hair & makeup?
A: Yes, we do! We offer mobile services throughout the Northern Rivers AKA the Byron Bay area & surrounds for both bridal & special event clients. As well as on location shoots. We also travel to Sydney.

Q: Are your bridal books open for 2027?
A: Yes, we're currently taking bridal bookings for 2027. However, we generally close our books over Spring/Summer (high season) & re-open them in January. During this time you can join our wait-list.
Q: Do you travel for destination weddings?
A: We currently travel interstate within Australia & we're accepting enquiries for overseas weddings. We're always happy to recommend other hair & makeup vendors if we're already booked on your wedding date.
Q: Where are you based?
A: I have a home-based studio in Ballina, NSW (approx. 30mins drive from Byron Bay.) This is where we do bridal trials & small (1-2x person) bookings.

Q: When should I book my hair & makeup trial?
A: No more than six months out from your wedding date.
Q: Are your hair & makeup products vegan & cruelty free?
A: Yes, we both use vegan & cruelty free products. Some of my preferred makeup & skincare brands include; Makeup by Mario, Charlotte Tilbury, Hourglass & Tarte`. Leah uses vegan & cruelty free hair care brand O&M.
Q: Are hair extensions necessary for Hollywood glam-waves?
A: Even if your hair is long & thick, about 95% of brides require hair extensions for glam-waves. They add height, length, fullness & longevity. Leah offers hair extension hire, as an add-on service to our bridal packages. Please note: she needs to colour-match you in-person.
Q: What's your bridal booking process?
A: 1. Fill out the enquiry form on my website 2. Complete & sign your contract to secure your date 3. Schedule is approved 4. Invoice is settled prior to your wedding day
Q: What's your non-bridal booking process?
A: You can fill out the enquiry form, send me a DM, text or WhatsApp to check our availability. Please include as much info as possible. Eg. How many people, which services you require, preferred location & approx. ready time etc.
Q: Can you help me plan my pre-wedding skincare routine & hair care plan?
A: Yes, Leah has been a qualified hairdresser for over 20 years & can definitely help advise you on everything from scalp health, colour, extensions, cutting & at-home care etc. I can advise you on all things makeup. Depending on your skin concerns, I can also advise you on products, at-home care & non-invasive procedures. For certain skin concerns such as hormonal acne, I'd advise you to see a naturopath, dermatologist or GP.
Q: How long does hair & makeup typically take on a wedding day?
A: We usually allow 30mins to set up & the same again to pack down. Hair generally takes approx. 45mins per person, with the exception of glam-waves, which take 1.5hrs. I allow 1hr per person for makeup. For the bride, we set aside 1.5hrs for makeup & 1-1.5hrs for hair.

Q: I don't usually wear much makeup. Will it still last all day if I go for a more natural look?
A: My signature style of makeup is what I call 'skin-focused'. Meaning, whether you choose to go for a medium or full coverage, it will still look 'skin-like' & feel light weight. My style of makeup never looks cakey or feel heavy. My brides always tell me their makeup lasted all night. It's still important to do a trial though, so any adjustments can be made on your wedding day. Eg. You might think you want a light-medium coverage & end up choosing a fuller look or vice versa. Your pre-wedding skincare routine plays an important part when it comes to longevity, as dehydrated skin will cause makeup to wear off quickly. During your trial I can also advise if you'll need any touch up products, which will be more likely if you have an oily or combination skin type or are prone to perspiration.

Q: Are hair & makeup trials really necessary?
A: We totally understand if you're time-poor &/or a busy, working Mum whilst planning a wedding. If this is the case, we can make an exception & do a thorough hair/makeup consultation over email.
Q: Do you offer airbrush makeup?
A: No. I learnt how to airbrush in makeup college. However, there are several reasons why I choose not to offer it. A common myth is that it will outlast regular foundation. This isn't necessarily true, longevity is achieved by a thin layering technique, long lasting products, skin type knowledge & skincare science. (I studied beauty therapy before makeup college to give me a more in-depth understanding of the above.) The formula used for airbrushing doesn't contain skin-loving ingredients, as it's designed to dry down quickly. Therefor it tends to dehydrate the skin (the opposite of what you want to achieve.) When the spray lands on your face it feels very cold, often causing you to flinch. When this happens your skin scrunches up around the eyes, forehead etc. which emphasises fine lines & wrinkles.

Q: How do I find the perfect wedding day lip combo?
A: Before you worry about colour choices, I'd start by deciding what you'll feel most comfortable in; a balm, gloss, stain, various lipstick textures, lip liner or a combo? If you suffer from dry, flakey lips, lip-prep is essential (exfoliation & hydration) & matte textures are best avoided. You'll know when you've found the right shade because your skin & eyes will look brighter. An easy way to discover which is the best choice for you; swatch three shades onto the back of your hand & hold it up against your face while looking in the mirror. Popular choices tend to fall into the pink or peach category, from barely there nudes to punchy brights. One of the biggest bridal lip trends is a modern take on the '90's lip; Pale pink & glossy to add fullness, with a deeper pinky-brown liner to add definition & a 3D effect. Although lip liners aren't essential, they're necessary for perfecting asymmetry. Which becomes more obvious when you wear a statement lip. Militant maintenance is non-negotiable if you go bold, so keep that in mind. Choosing a shade that ties in with your bouquet colour palette will look lovely & cohesive in photos. If you're still experiencing decision paralysis, there's always Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk range that never fails.
Q: Do you have any tips on choosing the most suitable hair style for my wedding day?
A: The important factors to consider are; How you want to feel on the day & how this will translate photographically. If you never wear your hair up, you probably won't feel comfortable with an up-style & vice versa. Does the length & texture of your hair work with the fabric & style of your dress or attire? High necklines generally work best with up-styles, as hair worn down can detract from the dress or mess with proportions. Focal points, such as bows or statement sleeves should also be considered. How the weather may affect your hair should also be a deciding factor.
